Dear C. Thomas Keegel and the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund Selection Committee,

I am greatly honored to be one of the recipients of the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support I will be able to complete my undergraduate studies at Mills College.

In May 2010, I will have completed the requirements to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. Mills College offers one of the finest programs in the country and I consider myself fortunate to be able to attend.

Working in my community throughout my high school and college career, I’ve always enjoyed helping children. Whether as a swim instructor, or as a mentor for children at the elementary school level, I have been pleased to be a part of the community services available to them. With this in mind, my future plans include pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education and a Teaching Credential so that I can continue working with children.

Once again, I offer my sincerest thanks for the generosity of the James R. Hoffa Memorial Fund.
